Ketua IAP2 Indonesia Ucapkan Terima Kasih

Aldi2Ketua/Presiding Member IAP2 Indonesia, Aldi Muhammad Alizar, mengucapkan terima kasih yang sebesar-besarnya kepada dukungan yang diberikan oleh semua anggota dan stakeholder atas terselenggaranya kegiatan seminar bulanan yang diadakan hari Senin tanggal 20 Oktober 2014 lalu. Aldi juga memberi apresiasi yang tinggi kepada para pihak yang sudah menghadiri kegiatan diskusi tersebut, dan juga membantu terselenggaranya kegiatan.

“Entah sengaja atau tidak, tanggal 20 Oktober adalah juga hari pelantikan Presiden RI yang berikutnya. Kebetulan inilah yang akan kita bersama optimalkan untuk membangun IAP2 Indonesia Affiliate mencapai visi untuk menjadi lembaga profesi partisipasi publik yang memimpin di aspek tersebut, baik di Indonesia maupun di Asia Tenggara”, tegas Aldi.

Public Participation in Rapidly Changing Indonesia

Eko SubhanIndonesia is one of new democratic country in the world compared with Western countries. The global economy is giving Indonesia a huge set of opportunity to accelerate the growth. Indonesia’ economic has performed well in recent years where economic growth, at arround 6 percen in the past 10 years, has made Indonesia one of the world’s fastest growing large economies. This condition also open the opportunity for this country to improve the democracy and public participation environment. It was the statement of Eko Subhan as a resource person in monthly seminar of IAP2 Indonesia held on 20 October 2014 in Jakarta.

Eko Subhan added that inaugation the President of Indonesia recently and the new election brought a change constellation of relationships and improving political systems. Pattern-elite public relations through social media show a new color in the social dynamics in the national level. The pattern of public participation in a process change in Indonesia as understanding the effectiveness of social media using by Indonesian people.

IAP2 Australasia Leadership Forum

IMG20141023091444IAP2 Australasia is one of affiliate within IAP2 International Federation. From 22-23 October 2014, IAP2 Australasia organised a two days leadership forum, namely “Leadership, Evidence and Advancing the Practice (LEAP)”. The leadership forum was held in Sidney, Australia. Presiding Member IAP2 Indonesia Affiliate, Aldi Muhammad Alizar, was attending these event after accepted the invitation from IAP2 Australasia and learn from them on how to lead and advancing public participation practices.

The event was opened by Ms. Leanne Hartil, new Chairman of IAP2 Australasi Affiliate. Most of participants came from all over Australia, including New Zealand and Tasmania. Also, some participants from South Africa who won IAP2 International Core Value Award.

IAP2 Indonesia Strengthen the Strategy of Public Participation

Seminar IAP2 Okt 2014IAP2 Indonesia organized a one-day seminar on 20 October 2014 in Jakarta. The seminar discussed the core issue of IAP2 Indonesia, especially about the strategy how to strengthen the public participation in Indonesia. Presiding member IAP2 Indonesia Aldi Muhammad Alizar said that Indonesia is one of the emerging economic countries in the world that needs support to increase the participation of stakeholders in the process of development. This public participation is very important as part of democracy. “Technically, public participation measures the quality of stakeholder engagement in the process of public policies formulation”, Aldi added.

  PENGANTAR

Partisipasi publik dalam sebuah negara demokratis seperti Indonesia merupakan sebuah keharusan. Dalam perspektif citizenship, partisipasi publik merupakan hak warga negara, yakni hak masyarakat untuk berpartisipasi (right to public participation). IAP2 menerjemahkan frase partisipasi publik (public participation) sebagai:

Public participation’ means to involve those who are affected by a decision in the decision-making process. It promotes sustainable decisions by providing participants with the information they need to be involved in a meaningful way, and it communicates to participants how their input affects the decision.
